Air show highlights the Concours d’Elegance fundraiser – The Denver Post

There are many reasons to attend the annual Morgan Adams Foundation Concours d’Elegance, and for thrill-seekers the main attraction would seem to be the air show.

Along with the chance to admire classic cars and vintage motorcycles, this fundraiser for pediatric cancer research included a demonstration of death-defying aerobatics performed by pilots Dagmar Kress, Don Nelson, Buck Roetman and Gary Rower.

They executed barrel rolls and loop-de-loops in front of a crowd that included Charlie Gallagher; Jack Cronin and Mary Gittings Cronin; George and Carole Shaw; Cathy Brownfield and Charlie Johnson.

Johnson, a former Air Force fighter pilot and a 2014 inductee into the Colorado Aviation Hall of Fame, is the president/CEO of Aero Electric Aircraft Corp. He also chairs the board of directors for Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum.

Prior to joining Aero, he was president of Cessna Aircraft.
