Ospina’s mistake for Colombia cost Chile a place at the World Cup

Arsenal fear Alexis Sanchez will struggle to motivate himself following Chile’s failure to qualify for the World Cup.
Gunners team-mate David Ospina was at fault for the goal which cost Chile a place in Russia after the Colombia goalkeeper touched an indirect free-kick into his own net during the 1-1 draw with Peru.
That draw cost Chile a place at the showpiece finals in next summer.
And Arsenal chiefs fear Sanchez will now not be ‘mentally fit’ for the challenges ahead this season, according to The Sun.
Sanchez turned down a £250,000-a-week deal from the Gunners in the summer and is expected to leave the Emirates next summer.
Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are heavily linked with him and will be able to sign him for free at the end of the season.
PSG defender Dani Alves has made clear he hopes he heads to the French capital if he does go.
Alves said: “He is being heavily courted by many teams. If it is to come to us, then that’s better.”
